Baseball

Baseball is my favorite sport. I play for the select team for Pewaukee. Were pretty good. This year in July, we went to Cooperstown. I play catcher, pitcher, first base, And center field. In Cooperstown i hit a ball off the top of the wall, and got the only double on the team because the fences are short. We were the only team who didn't get a home run, but i got closest. We stayed there for a week, and played teams from all over the US. We played a team from California who is amazing. We got crushed. They ended up winning the tournament by 4 runs. Sometimes my team will kill teams, or get killed. Other times we will have a very close game with a team, and either we'll win, or they will win. In Cooperstown, we played against an All-Star team from Massachusetts, and we played 8 innings. We usually only play 6. I started the inning with a single. Then I stole 2 bases. After wards, there was a walk, strikeout, walk. The bases were loaded with 2 outs to go. If there was a ground ball, I'd have to beat it home. There was. As soon as the ball hit the ground I sprinted home and made it easily. We won just like that. That was my favorite baseball game played.

sledding

Sledding is a very fun thing to do in the winter. Every year, my friend has a party and we all go sledding. Nearly all my friends come. It is a great time. Afterward we go back to his house, and stay until around midnight. We play ping pong, and we have a giant dinner. This is usually my friends birthday party. Other times though, we go somewhere else depending on the weather. One year we went bowling. I also go sledding with some other friends. We go really late at night, and their are jumps everywhere. Sledding is always a good time.

literature essay

Literature Essay
By Robert Wagner

Have you ever seen something magic? "Mary Poppins" by P.L.Travers, is definitely magic. She can fly around with an umbrella, and make anything come out of the bag she carries around. The movie "Mary Poppins" is easily a great example of a romantic mode of literature. The plot line, characteristics, and the symbolism all show us that it is written in the romantic mode.

In the beginning of the movie, the minor conflict is first realized. The parents realize they need a nanny, and then are disputing about it a lot. Amazingly, a wind blows all of the nannies away, and "Mary Poppins" is floating down holding her umbrella. Miraculously, the problem is solved just like that. Towards the end, the life symbolism easily sticks out. The dad does a 360, and completely turns around. Mr. Banks sings as he comes home, and is the exact opposite of what he was in the beginning of it. Before, he was a mean old man that wouldn’t do anything for anyone. The way he turned around was great for the family, because he would spend more time with them, and he was cheerful. This was probably the easiest life symbolism to pick out.

Even though the main problem is solved, there are still many more problems involved. The children run away many times. Their father is always away, and does not pay any attention to them. He is obsessed with the bank that he works at. When “Mary Poppins” comes though, nearly all of the minor problems are solved except for the dad problem. She spends more time with the children then their father, and I think must be terrible for them. All these minor problems that are solved are a symbolism of a romance plot line.

There are many characteristics that make this movie a romance. For example, there’s a lot of mysterious magic going on nearly all the time. Another obvious characteristic is that during most of the movie, there’s great weather. That’s a romance characteristic. Other symbols include the dog they own, and the types of plants seen in the movie. Those are harder to pick out, but there in the movie.
Even though there are more symbolism's of a romance in this movie, these are the main ones that take place. The plot line fits in perfectly with the story. Every single symbol points directly to romance. There is absolutely no way that this story is a tragedy, irony, or comedy. All of the characteristics, the plot line, and the symbols point to the romantic mode of literature.

Snow Days

Snow days:
I love snow days. There fun. My brother and I have snowball fights, and I always win. I don't know why he still does that, because it always ends with him running in the house crying. I then go inside and drink lots of hot chocolate. The best are the ones with marshmallows. After wards depending on how I feel, I watch TV for about two hours, then eat lunch. It's pretty much more snowball fights after wards, and TV. Then following, is dinner, and sleep. It's pretty much a day of greatness: pelting my brother with snowballs, and relaxation. Yes snow days are great.

Christmas

I like Christmas. Christmas is fun. I like getting presents, but I feel good when I get presents. I also like the part where I get to eat as many cookies as I like. Another great part is sleeping in on Christmas morning. I used to get up at around 4 in the morning, but now I like to get as much sleep as possible. Sometimes I get the lamest possible gifts for Christmas, but I guess I should start getting used to that. I can tell whether it's going to be a good or bad Christmas "present wise" if the first few presents are in a box shape, and aren't hard. You can pound on them, and the box will break right through. That means that there are clothes in them, making it pretty obvious that at the moment, you're not getting what you want. I usually get at least three great gifts a year, so that's how many I give. Actually, I usually just get something for everyone in my family. I kind of do it the cheep way though. If the person I'm giving the present to stiffed me the year before, then I don't get them as great a gift. But that way, at least I make it fair.
On Christmas day, we always go to my grandmas house for more gifts and food. That' s always a good time. After wards though, you feel like you have nothing to look forward to in a long time which really stinks. Because before Christmas, you 're all excited, and as it comes closer you keep getting more excited. But it's over so quickly. All in all though Christmas is always a blast, and I'm glad for it.

Creative Story
It was a windy day when the man crossed the road and went into the bus station. It had been cloudy all day, and the temperature was really dropping. He didn’t mind though. This was Phoenix, Arizona. The man was bald, short, and had a huge hairy mustache. It was a very important day for him. He had just been signed to the L.A. Lakers basketball team, and was catching the bus to his first game. He was also a starting point guard, even at his 295 pounds of belly. He was a proud man, after coming straight from the sumo business, losing 500 pounds, and now this. Yes what a great life this was. His name was Charlie. The first game was against the Suns, who had a great starting point guard in Steve Nash. This apparently was no problem for the fat short man, for he knew who was better. Or so he thought.
The game went terribly for him. He thought he had been the better player, but he had been seriously beaten. The final score was 102-3, and as he walked away from the stadium, the day seemed gloomier weather wise. His statistics were this: 0 points, 0 /141 shots, .000 shooting percentage and he had been blocked 140 times. The only good thing was that he had an assist to Kobe Bryant, who scored the only points for them the whole day.
Charlie got fired. Now not only could he not play basketball for the Lakers, but he couldn’t play basketball, period. So now he was seriously thinking about gaining 500 pounds, and going back to the sumo world. As the wind blew by, he walked yet again into the bus station, but now to take the bus home, not to another game.

Charlie was definitely thinking about going back to the sumo world.

creative story

I have been to Mexico. I went to Puerto Vallarta. It was in the spring. Missing school for a week wasn't the greatest thing to do, because I had a lot of homework. It was definitely worth it though. My family got to stay in our own house, which was right next to a giant pool, which was right next to the ocean. So we got to swim in the pool, and then the ocean. There was also a giant buffet, so we ate their some of the nights, or for lunch. We went to another city, which I can't remember what was called. That was fun. The buses were terrible there. They smelled really bad, and the dude who drove the bus had no teeth. All in all, it was a good trip.

Food

Food can be in between disgusting and the worst thing you've ever tasted, and between good and I'm in heaven. I like the I'm in heaven ones best though. My favorite food is a cheeseburger, with extra cheese. those are to die for, if they're cooked right. But that's an opinion.Food can also be like I said be downright terrible. Spinach is one of the worst. I mean eating leaves??? But that's another opinion. People have many opinions about foods, some of which I think are good, and some of which I think are bad. But food is food.

Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I know it;s not all about presents, but that's probably my favorite part. That along with the cookies. I usually get a lot of clothes, which I personally think stinks, but my mom reminds me that there are people out their who would really want a pair of socks, so I don't feel so bad. On christmas morning, I try to get as much sleep as possible, but that's nearly IMpossible, with my brother yelling about all the new toys he got. I just cover my ears with my new pair of socks, and it's actually not so bad.

sports

Sports are my favorite things to do. I play basketball, baseball, i used to play football, and I run cross country. When I get home from school, shoot some hoops outside for a while, before going in to do my homework. My favorite sport is baseball, which I play in the summer, and in the fall. My baseball team is pretty good. We went to Cooperstown, New York, to play a tournament where teams from all over the country go. That was a great time. The sport I'm best at is cross country. I got first, second twice, third, and fifth twice this year. That helped my team out a lot. I used to play football, until I got a bad concussion. I play basketball for the black team, and our team is also pretty good.

What would you do if you were fighting for your country? Would you be proud?  People fighting for their countries are patriots. Are patriots important? Does patriotism still exist? Patriotism is still important, because there are still patriots, and they still risk their lives to make their country a better place.

What is patriotism, and who are patriots?  Patriotism is the love of a country, and the will to fight, and risk your life for it. The devotion to a country is also a big part of patriotism.  Patriots believe in their country. These people would rather die than see their country fall apart. Veterans are people who have fought in earlier wars. These are people who might have fought in world war one, or world war two.  Veterans are also patriots; it's just that they are usually from a while back.

Although there are patriots, the real question would be asking if patriotism exists. Random people will leave there families, and go to Iraq, Afghanistan, or another middle east country, and fight for what they believe in. That's patriotism, right?  It doesn't make much sense, how people would say that it doesn't exist.

Even though patriotism exists, that doesn't necessarily mean that it matters. Again, some people will say it still matters, and some people won't. That's an opinion.  It matters, because without patriotism, our country might not be safe. The people who fight, might be brought home, and the U.S would have no protection.  That would definitely not be a good thing.

Patriotism is many things. Patriots have the will, and courage. Although some people may not believe, or support this, patriotism still exists, and matters. It exists, because there even still, people are fighting for their country, and what they believe in.
